AJA Vineyards Malibu Coast Rosé

This delicate rosé is one not to miss. Notes of bright peach, yellow cherries, nectarine, cantaloupe and strawberries when you first swirl the glass. Chill this wine down and enjoy it in the summer sun! So refreshing, you might just finish the bottle in a single sitting.

When you enjoy this delicious elixir, taste the Malibu sun, the ocean breeze, and remember how wine is a delicate art form.

This wine was created in the eyes of Todd and Heather's eldest daughter, Amanda. She sought to make a rosé that reminded her of her childhood amongst the vines, and the sweet summer in Malibu.

What Is Rosé Wine?

Rosé is actually a wine genre and not a particular grape type. The difference between the production of rosé wine and other red wines is how much contact the juice has with the grape skins. Most rosé wines are more dry than sweet, and our Malibu Coast rosé wine is crisp and refreshing in your wine glass.

Rosé can be cultivated in any wine region and made from any red grape, which adds to its popularity and availability. Rosé wines are popular in France, Italy and Spain, and they're a favorite in the U.S. It is worth mentioning that rosé is the most-produced wine in Provence, which is a coastal region in France with beautiful sunny skies and gorgeous beaches. Sound familiar?

How Is Rosé Wine Made?

The juice that comes from grapes is often clear, and the wine hue is from the grape skin. Maceration is a winemaking process that refers to when the juice of the wine soaks in all of the flavors and colors of the skin, which creates the color of the wine.

When making rosé wine, we get rid of the skins and ferment the juice once it has turned into the desired color. This is called the Direct Press Process

The soil here on the Malibu Coast has a mineral and volcanic composition, and there is a rain shadow effect, which makes the perfect temperature for grapes to grow. The region has microclimates, which allow for different varieties of grapes to be grown -- including both warm climate and cool climate wines.

Whether you’re a seasoned wine enthusiast or just want to see what the Malibu Coast has to offer, our elegant rosé wine is certain to please.
