Farming Practices, Sustainable Methods

July 20, 2020

Hi Everyone,

It’s me, Amanda, once again come to you with some more information about our LOVELY wines!

Today is Monday July 20th. This week’s weather forecast is going to be cool with a high of just 75 and some nice cloud coverage.

The good news about this is that it means the vines get a bit more weather shifting causing them to relax a little before the home stretch!

Our vines are looking spectacular. We were out in the vineyards on Friday with our vineyard consultant and manager. He said “I’m very pleased with what I see,” which, in his terms, means pretty amazing farming!

The Merlot, some of the Cab and a hint of the Syrah are approaching veraison, which is when the grapes turn from green to purple, which is beautiful and exciting! It’s telling us that we’ll probably start harvesting around late August with the Sauvignon Blanc through mid October!

This year, though has been difficult with COVID-19, has been a very interesting time for our winery. We’re learning more about you, our consumers, and we’re learning about ways to bring Malibu wine to you! Our coastline Cabernets and Syrahs are ready for you to enjoy!

What I’ve been most recently drinking is the 2015 AJA Vineyards Malibu Coast Cabernet Sauvignon and our 2019 Estate Rosé! The Rosé is perfect for by the pool, or even with a meal. The Malibu Cab is delicious and earthy but rich with bright fruit undertones. It’s really taking on a fabulous form! We only have about 7 cases left of our Cab Sauv so get it quickly!

Anywho, hope you’re having a lovely July!

Cheers Amanda
